Romans 5:3-5
“Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.”

Suffering is no fun.
When we are living in the midst of a painful experience, it is so hard to see what good might come of it. As we stay focused on the “now”, it is easy to be distracted and stop thinking about what could and will be.
The truth is this; someday, we will know everything, we will feel no more pain and we will be with lost loved ones. The sad but humorous part? When that day comes, we won’t care about those things anymore.
Dear Lord,
Thank you for the times when we feel lost, and the only visible way to be with You is to move through an experience, tasting the smallest portion of unhappiness, pain or suffering.
Forgive us, Lord for when we try to remove suffering from our lives, regardless of hearing about Your story.
We praise Your Holy Name and offer thanksgiving to You,
In Christ’s name,
Amen.
