Struggle or Embrace?

1 Corinthians 16:14

“Do everything in love.”

Such a simple sentence; such a difficult task.

There are things we have to do every day which, for some reason or another, are almost impossible to do and be happy at the same time.  Work around the house, difficult problems in the workplace which need addressing, disciplining children…all of these things seem like chores of drudgery.

But how do these things feel when we approach them with an attitude of thankfulness and love?  Are they somehow different when we acknowledge the blessings which are behind these challenges?  Work around the house means you have a place to live; problems at work mean you have a job; disciplining children mean you have been blessed with a family.

When we perform our daily work with genuine love in our heart, the chore becomes a blessing, conflict a chance for reconciliation and the challenge an opportunity for growth.

Heavenly Father, 

You have shown us that where there is love, blessings come forth. 

As we travel through our day, give us peace, strength and perseverance to approach all things with a spirit of love and gratitude.  When we allow You to fill us with a loving attitude, we are able to shine the light of Jesus Christ to those around us. 

We are thankful for the times, when in the midst of chaos, You give us a moment to see things with Your eyes, allowing love to abound.
